33 weeks and some other stuff

This past weekend Josh and I headed to Minneapolis for one last getaway before the little one comes. Both of us are completely directionally challenged so anytime we leave town, we get lost a couple of times for sure. We took along the GPS but decided not to turn it on until we got an hour or so out of town. We at least knew how to get that far. So when I turned it on, it wouldn't work. After about 45 minutes of trying to get it to work we seriously thought about going back home. Yes, ridiculous I know. We couldn't even make it to the cities, let alone anywhere else once we got up there. We decided to pull over and Josh stood in the ditch trying the get it to work, which it finally did. The rest of the mini vacation went a lot smoother. :) We did a little bit of shopping, met up with some friends and even took a nap. We headed to a Twins game, which they of course lost, but it was still fun and a very much needed getaway.

I made it to 33 weeks now! Over the past week, I have had multiple people tell me that I'm huge and look like I'm about ready to pop. Nope, 7 more weeks people. One person asked me if I'm having twins. Nope, just one in there but thanks. I definitely feel like I have grown a lot in the past week and for the first time have actually been a little uncomfortable, mostly just my back. But I can't complain. I've had a wonderful pregnancy so far.

Maternity Shoot

A couple of weeks ago we had some maternity photos taken, which Josh was super excited about. :) Just for the record, after we left he said he couldn't wait to see them. We had an amazing photographer and will be using her for the little man's photos as well. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a picture person. I have pictures everywhere and want to take pictures of everything. I'm sure my child will love it as much as his father does. Here are a couple of our favorites...

31 weeks

How far along? 31 weeks
Total weight gain: 28 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Oh yes, I am quickly running out of regular clothes that don’t leave my belly hanging out.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: usually pretty good but am having to get up to pee more and more
Best moment this week: I still love hearing his heartbeat at the doctors. Somehow it’s reassuring to me.
Miss Anything? Besides being able to breathe, just deli meat. I can honestly say I don’t really miss pop and caffeine... shocking.
Movement: I’m feeling him move a lot more these days. He especially likes to kick me in the ribs now. He is definitely a lot more active in the evenings.
Gender: Boy!
Food cravings: Other than still sugar & sweets, I’ve been craving cheese balls lately. Why can’t I crave healthy things??
Anything making you nauseous? I’m not a big fan of the smell of ranch lately.
Labor Signs? No
Symptoms: I still have really restless legs and this week have felt nauseous a couple of times.
Belly Button in or out? I think it’s about half and half.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time? So happy!
Looking forward to: We have our maternity pictures this afternoon!

Josh and I are still in awe of how quickly this has all gone so far. 9 more weeks!!!! We could not be more excited to meet our little man! It still seems kind of surreal.

for my mama...

With Mothers Day approaching I was out looking for a card for my mom. I HATE buying cards. First of all, a lot of them were like $5.00 now. What?! Ridiculous. Anyways, it got me thinking about my own mom and the kind of mom that I hope my kids will think of me as. Anyone who knows my mom knows that she is the sweetest, most kind-hearted person you will ever meet. Little Debbie. She has a heart of gold, really. And that is the kind of person she has always expected us to be. One thing I always remember her saying is, "Be loving and kind." Along with, "Do you have your toothbrush?" Not only were we to be kind to others but we needed to have clean teeth. :)
She loves to shop (no look is complete without matching jewelry),  she has more shoes than I will ever own, she loves Starbucks and traveling. But more importantly, she always puts others first, is respectful, and has set a wonderful example to my sisters and me.

She is the absolute best mom I could ever ask for (I'm sure everyone says that, but for real...) and is the most wonderful grandma to my nephew Lincoln. I know my kids will grow up adoring her. I hope that one day, when my kids are grown, they look at me with the same respect that I feel for my mom.
Happy Mothers Day Mama!

3 years!

Three years ago today I was blessed enough to marry my best friend. We have been through a lot in these 3 years but I could not have asked for a better person to be by my side. I cannot wait to start on this new chapter of our lives in 2 1/2 short months and have no doubt you will make the most amazing dad. Love you millions!
